Casey O. Reedy
Corporate Development Director, Duke Energy

Casey Reedy serves as a director of corporate development for Duke Energy. In this position, he is responsible for the company’s mergers and acquisitions activities, as well as management of the company’s venture investment portfolio. He assumed his current position in September 2018.

Background

Previously, Casey served as a director of finance for Albemarle Corporation, a global specialty chemicals company and the world’s leading producer of lithium. In this role, he led the strategic financial planning and analysis team for various business units across the company. During his tenure, he held similar positions in the Bromine Specialties business unit, the Performance Catalyst Solutions business unit and the Downstream Lithium business unit. He joined Albemarle in 2016 following an eight year career in public accounting. Prior to Albemarle, Casey served as a manager in the M&A and Transaction Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young, LLP for four years where he led engagements related to financial due diligence, valuations, business modeling and structuring. Prior to his time at Ernst & Young, Casey served as a senior associate in the Audit & Assurance practice of KPMG, LLP for four years where he led audit engagements for various public and private company clients. Casey earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 and his Masters of Accounting from the Kenan Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. He is a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina and is also a chartered financial analyst. Casey serves on the board of managers of the Dowd YMCA and is a former advisory council member of the First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte Weekday School. Casey is actively involved in the men’s organization F3 and YMCA Adventure Guides. He is also an Eagle Scout. Casey and his wife, Meredith, live in Charlotte with their two children and their golden retriever.
